Our mommy-group friends and their precious kids arrived at 10 a.m. for the start of a a party progressive of sorts that began at our home for, yes, cookie decorating.
I arranged little stations for each of the kids with bowls of colored sugar. Then they sprinkled, pounded, squished and sneaked dough
into their mouths as parents
watched the little Picassos in culinary action.
Friends told me it takes guts to have that many kids over wielding sugar, but you know, they were all little angels (and an ugly, indestructible linoleum floor doesn't hurt either).
Our gathering was short and sweet, literally. Later that afternoon I baked up the cookies and we began delivering them to their rightful decorators.
